How to Step up the Mapper?
Just follow these steps carefully for your VR home setup, Home Mapping.
Total Time: 2 minutes
Step 1
Trace a perimeter around the areas you want to play in (for example the walls around the rooms It’s just like a boundary). If you choose, you can turn any closet, bedroom, bathroom, or kitchen into a play space.
Step 2
Mark off each huge object individually in step two. Workstations, couches, and beds may all be added to the new barrier area with just three clicks.
Step 3
Create an anchor, a physical location in your house from which you can quickly realign the playspace whenever you restart the programme. You only need to complete this setup stage once because the program will remember your unique setup, gaming high scores, and intricate apartment constructions!
CUSTOM HOME CREATION
It’s time to start adding items for example Sofa your TV, Table, etc, personalizing our walls, and creating our own distinctive VR setting so we can invite visitors over (through multiplayer) or just hang out and perhaps watch TV now that the fundamental geometry of our home has been mapped and aligned (with the Video Player).
Unity
Unity is well known for its gaming software and app. We can use the unity development tool to create a virtual set of our house or any place just similar to home mapping software. But for that, we need to set up and create everything from scratch. And build our own Virtual house using unity it is not only for developers but you can build your Virtual space and map your home for VR. So let’s start our process of home mapping in virtual reality.
Step 1: Download the unity development tool
To download the Unity Hub tool just click here and then just click on the second “Download Unity Hub” Button.
Step 2: Open the Software and signup and create your unity developer account using google.
Step 3: Click on Create a New Project button and Name your Virtual space.
Step 4: Measure the width and length of the walls with proper notes.

Now, this is the most important part of house mapping is measuring the walls and each room. The image given below will provide you with some ideas.
Step 5: Now Set up your house structure
In this step, we have to complete the Virtual house outlining

Right-click on your project name and then go to the 3d objects and then select the Plane. This will be a floor for our virtual space and it’s very important to match it with the house dimensions.

Now in the x and z axis put your house dimensions.

Once you create one wall then to create others just change the angle to 90deg for that just drag the element.

Once you complete all the steps mentioned above now again click on your project and 3d objects and add a cube that will behave the role of walls.
Step 6: Adding Objects and Items

Now at the end to set up the virtual space, we need to add elements such as beds, home decor, tables, and wall hanging in VR space, and mapping your house in VR will provide you the full authority and control over your room mapping. Previously we had POLY by google to get all the necessary items to add to Virtual rooms. You can go with alternatives to add 3d models and art for rooms. For flooring, you can download images from google and add the items to the assets folder.
Step 7: VR Integration and Calibration
Go to the top navigation Unity AppStore and search for Oculus integration just download it. To find your downloaded package just go to the Assets folder >> Sub Folder VR >> Then to Prefabs
Step 8: Add controllers

Now to add the controller to your environment we have made some changes just go to the OVRCameraRig and open it. You will find two rows of Left-hand anchor and Right-hand open both tabs and Replace both OVRControllerPrefab anchor just replace the controller’s file.
Getting Things Done

Now the last step is to go to the file and then to the project settings, make sure to connect your quest while performing this step. Now in the same window click on the player settings at the bottom and then go to the XR plugin management tab then install and select oculus. Once you tick all these settings just click on Build And Run.
